Founded in Kilburn, migrated to Camden Town and now spread far and wide around London, Good Ship Comedy is your friendly neighbourhood comedy club. For the past fifteen years we have featured some of the finest comics from the UK and international festival circuit including Milton Jones, Sara Pascoe, Josh Widdicombe, Sindhu Vee, Fern Brady, Romesh Ranganathan, Rosie Jones, Paul Sinha Lou Sanders, Maisie Adam and many, many more. All presented by resident compere, Ben Van der Velde.
Hosting regular gigs in Leytonstone, Holloway Road, West Norwood and Battersea, as well as curating their first ever comedy festival this October. In addition they are experienced in creating bespoke events for clients as diverse as Windwave Bicycle Expos, Creative Assembly (BAFTA award-winning games studio) and British Naturism.
Good Ship Comedy runs several comedy nights open to the public, but also book and run private comedy events. Whether it be for an office Christmas party, awards ceremony, birthday party, bar mitzvah or successful exorcism, they are experts at booking the ideal line - up for you.
Good Ship Comedy is unique in that they are a comedian run company. The helmsman Ben Van der Velde is a professional host and MC, gigging for most of the major clubs around the country including The Comedy Store, Glee and Komedia. Ben has well over a decade experience of working with some of the most talented names in the industry and programming comedy shows in a huge variety of venues, from boats to bingo halls, private members clubs to naturist festivals (really!) and everything in-between. For the private comedy nights, the advantage is that they have first-hand experience with the UK comedy circuit. There is such a variety of comedians in the UK, and not every act fits every night. Because they are actively gigging on the circuit, their first-hand knowledge of acts’ styles allows then to find a line-up that is perfect for your target audience, not just a generic ‘comedy night’.
